FMA Weekend!

But before I get to that, what have I been up to in the past two weeks? Apart from the usual (work, sleep, eat, going to Helen's house), I've visited a seedy motel in Soho (which is apparently in Greenwich), stolen games from Colm, managed to get closer to my death, had tea at the Ritz, and obviously the FMA weekend :)

So yeah, there was this seedy motel in Soho, disguising as a pub called The Greenwich Union. Sarah and I decided to meet up there the Friday before last, which was quite nice as I hadn't seen her for two years or so. I had chocolate beer while Sarah told me about her cunning plan to buy a house in Europe, so it was all fun :) I even took a photo:

On the Saturday I got to see another friend who I hadn't seen for over a year - Colm, having convinced him that his final year project didn't really matter... Well, he didn't really need convincing anyway... I even drove all the way to Elephant & Castle to pick him up (was out shopping with mum anyway), which turned out to be a really silly idea, as the traffic on the way home was hooooorible, mainly caused by various people abandoning their cars in the middle of road to find food/toilet... We finally got home in the end though, and proceeded to spend the next 8 hours on my computer... it was fun :) I even stole GTA San Andreas from him :)

Oh, I think I also turned 22 last Monday, i.e. closer to death, as Hane nicely put :) I didn't want to believe it, but my computer and phone both tried to tell me that it was "Fan Yang's birthday"... Anyway, it was a great day, Helen took me to the Ritz for tea! :D Actually, we got rather scared the previous night when I phoned up to confirm the reservation and they failed to find my booking... It was all OK in the end though, phew, the person was probably just a little blind :)

Anyway, you've probably read all about it on Helen's blog, I'll just add two extra photos :)

Mirrors!

paper and emmie

It's me again!

Anyway, I was getting little bored this evening when Helen mentioned making pretty snowflakes, which inspired me to make this:

not exactly a pretty snowflake, but I was still happy :D

Used to make similar stuff all the time when I was little :)

Some of you may be familiar with thefacebook. Well, I was randomly browsing the other day and came across Emily Smith, a muso at Clare College Cambridge, who was a soloist for my orchestra last year (Saint-Saƫns Cello Concerto No. 1, for anyone interested...). And the first thing that came to my mind was: "Wow! This must be what Emmie will look like in few years time!"

I was going to put a photo of Emmie here for comparison, but can't seem to find any suitable ones right now... So in the mean time, try to imagine Emmie inside the rectangle below :)

Oh, and apologies to Emily Smith for randomly using your photos, just in case you do ever come across this post :)
